Towanda

For those of you who don't know, I tend to have a little bit of road rage. I no longer flip people off(thanks to almost flipping off Sister Tew in High School - yes, sweet, humble Sister Tew) but I would if I could. I do tend to call them idiots, though, and I also like to smile and wave at them. It really makes them mad when you do that. I always get the finger when I do that. Which pleases me because I know that I really got to them. As you can see, I am a little too aggressive in the car.

Well, last Friday, I had a serious episode of road rage. We were on our way to DC and I was not in a good mood. We had woken up at 4:20 so that we could make it to the White House by 8 am. I was tired and we were running late as always. We came up to traffic that was pretty much stopped. The lane I was in was ending so I moved to the next lane. As I was slowing down, this hag pulled in front of me, cutting me off, and coming so close to hitting me that I don't know how she missed.

I was a little perturbed - well, actually, I was furious! I get ticked off when I am by myself but when I am with my kids, I get enraged! Nobody puts my kids in danger without feeling the wrath of Dani. So, I let the wrath pour out and honked at her. Not once, not twice, but three times! I am sure you can imagine my eyes bugging while I did it. I was so angry.

I am sure you are picturing a sane person who would be contrite and realize that she was in the wrong. You would be wrong. She was nuts. She stopped in the middle of the freeway and flipped me off. She wouldn't go for about a full minute. She was too busy flipping me off to drive apparently. Well, being the blogger that I am, I knew that this was definitely a photo op. Here are the pictures of this lovely lady.

Yes, that is her hand flipping me off. She was like that the whole time she was stopped. After she was done flipping me off, she moved forward and pulled into the lane beside me. Several cars behind us pulled ahead of me and beside her. They all flipped her off and were yelling at her. I am going to assume this did not make her too happy because when I finally pulled up next to her, she was livid. She was again flipping me off. Big surprise! She was also screaming.

Being the peacemaker that I am, I rolled down my window and told her that she is crazy. She was wild with anger. She started cussing at me and screeching. I wish I would have thought to have Brent take a picture of her so that I could post it. She was so out of control. It might be a good thing, though, because she might have attacked us. Well, I was done with this little chat, so I rolled up my window and continued driving forward. She was not done and kept screaming and driving. She almost slammed into the car in front of her. Being the kind person that I am, this was the most satisfying part of my day. Crazy lady!

Anyway, I was frustrated but seeing her almost smash her car made me realize I need to let it go and focus on driving in traffic. I do wish that I had a car like Mad Max. I would love to smash her car to smithereens. I would love to have weapons mounted to the hood of my car. I would never try to kill anyone but I would love to watch that nasty creature flying from the blast of my rocket launcher! I would yell "Towanda!" and shake my fist at her. Yes, this is a secret fantasy of mine - one I have daydreamed about far too often. Oh, well, for now I will just work on anger management!

Wow, sis, you've got some serious issues! I'm so glad that woman was there so that you could project your feelings onto her. I'm also glad she didn't have a weapon. ;)

Oh my goodness. There is truly a family gene involved here. I MAY have a little road rage of my own. When you spend as many hours driving as I do, I don't think you can help it! I wish you and Towanda had been with me today... I was late, on a two lane winding road, and the idiot in front of me was going 18 mph in a 35!!! FOR 7 MILES!!!

Have a great day! Love you.

I have never seen such a thing! People sometimes ask how we can live in the desert, but I'll tell you this. People here are nice drivers! They let you in. They take turns. I have a little of that Proffitt rage myself, but on the road it is usually because someone in front of me is moving too slow. In fact, once I was driving with just Mitch when he was 2 years old. I was in a school zone and people were stopped. Which ticked me off, because i was not dropping off a child. SO I yelled, "move it!" and tiny Mitchell in the back stands up and says, "ya retard!" I know. Teaching my kids lovely habits...;)

Oh, that's soooo funny! Don't you just love people sometimes? I drive so much these days I can't help but road rage. The street my house is on is soooo long and it never fails, I get behind some person driving 20 mph. all the way to my house. I call my street the green mile b/c it seems like forever before I can finally get home.

So entertaining! That would have been a great You Tube video, but I'm glad you were thinking safety first. Some of those losers carry guns! You are a hoot!

I love this story!! I have always wanted to carry a dry erase board in my car so I can tell people what I think of their driving. I also find my girls yelling at people on the road. I guess I've rubbed off on them.

Keep up the good work. We need to get these crazy drivers off the road.
